Donzelli Giovanni

Giovanni Donzelli (Florence, 28 November 1975) is an Italian politician and has served as a Member of the Chamber of Deputies for Fratelli d’Italia since 2018. Married to Alessia and father of two children, he lives in Prato. He obtained a scientific secondary school diploma and began university studies in Literature and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Florence, without completing them.

He started his political career in 1994 by joining the University Front of National Action of the Italian Social Movement (MSI). Over the years, he was active in Alleanza Nazionale (AN) and Il Popolo della Libertà (PdL). In December 2012, Donzelli joined Fratelli d’Italia, becoming coordinator of the party’s national executive and later National Head of Organisation.

Before his election to Parliament, Donzelli held local and regional roles: he was a city councillor in Florence, first elected in 2004 with Alleanza Nazionale and re-elected in 2009 with Il Popolo della Libertà. He also served as a regional councillor in Tuscany, elected in 2010 on PdL lists and re-elected in 2015 with Fratelli d’Italia.

Elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2018 and re-elected in 2022, during the 18th legislature he served on the 1st Constitutional Affairs Committee and the 14th European Union Policies Committee. In the 19th legislature, he holds key positions: he was elected Secretary of the Chamber of Deputies on 19 October 2022 and became Vice President of the Parliamentary Committee for the Security of the Republic (COPASIR) on 6 December 2022.
