Derdziuk Zbigniew

bigniew Derdziuk (born on 24 January 1962 in Skierbieszów) is a Polish politician and senior public official. He graduated in Sociology from the University of Warsaw in 1987 and completed postgraduate studies in organisation and management. He took part in programmes such as the Advanced Management Program and received further training in finance and management.

His professional career spans banking, media and consulting. He has held executive roles in companies such as Telewizja Polska and PKO BP. In public administration, he served as Secretary of State at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister in two separate terms, from 1998 to 1999 and from 2005 to 2006. He was also a minister–member of the Council of Ministers from 2007 to 2009 in Donald Tusk’s government.

Derdziuk served as President of the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) for a first term from 2 October 2009 to 31 March 2015. He later worked in the banking and real estate sectors. On 30 April 2024, he was appointed President of ZUS again.
