Cotana Franco

Born in Marciano (Perugia) in 1957, married with two children, he graduated in Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1983. He is Full Professor of Industrial Thermal Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Perugia and Director of the National Research Centre on Biomass (CRB), established by the Ministry of the Environment at the University of Perugia. He is also President and Coordinator of the PhD Programme in Energy Engineering at the University of Perugia.
He is the author of numerous scientific publications (over 150) in international journals and in the proceedings of international and national conferences, in the environmental and energy fields: environmental impact, energy conversion plants, biomass, energy recovery from waste, biofuels, photovoltaics, hydrogen production and use, fuel cells, indoor environmental comfort, energy saving, heat transfer, applied thermodynamics, air conditioning and building thermophysics, acoustics, protection from noise and vibrations, thermal-acoustic insulation, air quality, refrigeration machines and refrigerants, ISO and EMAS environmental certifications, first- and second-generation biofuels, gasification, waste-to-energy processes, and Life Cycle Assessment.
