Comazzi Gianluca

Born in Milan on 17 November 1980, after obtaining his school-leaving certificate from a language-focused secondary school, he graduated with first-class honours from the Faculty of Psychology at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.

In 2000, he served as vice-chair of the Culture Committee and the Parks and Gardens Committee for District 9 of the City of Milan, whilst in 2006 he was appointed Animal Welfare Officer for the City of Milan, a role that gave him the opportunity to work at an institutional level in a field that has always been close to his heart. Thanks to his commitment, more than 300 dog parks have been created in the city of Milan, used by thousands of people every day. The most significant project carried out during his five-year term was undoubtedly the new Municipal Dog and Cat Shelter: a dog and cat shelter set within a 35,000-square-metre green space dedicated to the rehabilitation of abandoned animals.

From 2010 to 2011, he held the post of political lead for the Lombardy Regional Council’s Department of Green Systems and Landscape, under the 9th Legislature. Also in 2011, he was appointed by the National Association of Italian Municipalities as a delegate to the Lombardy Regional Council’s advisory committee on stray animals. Since October of that same year, he has been president of the Italian Animal Welfare Federation, an association dedicated to protecting the rights of animals and the many people who love them, through services and support that foster the relationship between humans and animals.

In 2014, he joined the Milan City Council. From 2014 to 2018, he served on the National Council of ANCI. In June 2016, he stood for re-election and was re-elected to the Milan City Council. He was appointed leader of the Forza Italia group at Palazzo Marino. In the 2018 regional elections, he was elected as a regional councillor for Lombardy, and subsequently became the leader of the Forza Italia group in the Regional Council. In October 2021, he was re-elected to the Milan City Council.
As a candidate in the 2023 regional elections, he received the highest number of votes on the list and was re-elected to the Regional Council. During the 12th Legislature, he was appointed by President Attilio Fontana as Councillor for the Territory and Green Systems.
