Chiassai Martini Silvia

Silvia Chiassai Martini, Mayor of Montevarchi in her second term, former President of the Province of Arezzo and Vice-President of the Union of Italian Provinces until 2022, now also serves as President of the CER Italia Foundation.

A long-time advocate of the importance of environmental, social and ecological transition for our country, since 2021 she has worked with determination to create a Renewable Energy Community (REC) through a public-private partnership between the Municipality of Montevarchi and the operator Energy Montevarchi, with the aim of offering a concrete contribution to citizens and businesses, looking to the future of the younger generations.

In November 2022, CER Valdarno was established, with Dr Chiassai Martini elected as its president, and in August 2023, it became Fondazione CER Italia, following the innovations introduced by the CACER Decree and GSE regulations, becoming the first publicly-run energy community with the possibility of operating on a national scale.

The project immediately demonstrated its potential, receiving its first awards thanks to its innovative and pioneering features at national level.

Mayor Chiassai Martini’s ongoing commitment to promoting energy, social and economic sustainability in order to offer a better future to new generations has grown significantly, spreading throughout the country. Currently, Fondazione CER Italia has registered citizens, businesses, associations and over 60 participating municipalities from all regions of the country.
