Cerchiai Fabio

Born in Florence on 14 February 1944, resident in Venice, a Knight of Labour, and a graduate in Economics and Business from the University of Rome, he began his career in the insurance division of Assicurazioni Generali, rising through the ranks until his appointment as Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chairman, positions he held until 2002. He has held positions on the boards of directors of major economic and financial companies in Italy and abroad.

He was Chairman of INA Assitalia, Chairman of ANIA – the National Association of Insurance Companies – and Chairman of UnipolSai SpA until April 2016, where he currently serves as Vice-Chairman. He is Chairman of Atlantia SpA, Autostrade per l’Italia SpA, Cerved Group Information Solutions SpA, Arca Vita SpA and Arca Assicurazioni SpA, and Siat SpA.
Since 18 January 2017, he has held the position of Chairman of Edizione Holding.

He is a member of the Italian Academy of Business Economics, Vice-Chairman of ANSPC (National Association for the Development of Credit Issues), and a Director of AISCAT (Italian Association of Motorway and Tunnel Concessionaires) since 2010. He is a member of the Executive Board of Assonime and a member of the Executive Board of the Censis Foundation.

Since 2011, he has been an adjunct professor at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Faculty of Banking, Finance and Insurance.
