Who we are
Cattani Marcello

Marcello Cattani, born in Milan in 1971, is married with two children and lives in Parma. He graduated cum laude in Biological Sciences with a specialisation in biomolecular science and obtained a specialisation in Food Chemistry and Technology, both from the University of Parma.
With over 20 years of experience, he has held positions of increasing responsibility at national and international level in leading global biopharmaceutical companies, including Sanofi, Sanofi Genzyme, Bristol Myers Squibb and Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals.
Since 2020, he has been President and CEO of Sanofi Italy and Malta. He took office as President of Farmindustria in July 2022 and was unanimously re-elected for a second term (2024-2026) in July 2024. Previously, at Farmindustria, he was delegate for industrial relations and coordinated the association’s groups on prevention and rare diseases.

He is on the General Council of Confindustria, where he is part of the International Foreign Investment Technical Group and the Life Sciences and Artificial Intelligence Sounding Boards.
He is a member of the General Council of Assolombarda and the Executive Council of Assobiotec.
He is a member of the General Council of Federchimica and the General Council of the Aspen Institute Italia.
Since October 2022, he has been President of Club Santé Italia, which brings together 40 French companies in the medical-pharmaceutical sector in Italy.
In 2019, he was named ‘Manager of the Year for the Pharma Sector’ by the 100 Italian Excellence Award Initiative. In 2024, he was awarded the ‘Academy Leaders’ prize by the Academy for Health and Clinical Research, and received an honorary Master’s degree in Economics from Pegaso Digital University for his role as an ‘enterprising and innovative leader in the biopharmaceutical field’.
