Raffaele Cattaneo

Born in Saronno in 1962, he graduated in Economics and Business from the Catholic University of Milan.
He worked at the Milan Chamber of Commerce from 1988 to 1995, first as Chief of Staff to the President and then as a Senior Manager.

In 1995, he became a Senior Manager at the Lombardy Regional Government, first in the President’s Office and then, until 2000, in the Strategic Planning Department. In 2000, he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Lombardy Regional Executive.
Elected Regional Councillor in 2005, in July 2006 he became Councillor for Infrastructure and Mobility for the Lombardy Region, a position he retained in 2010. Re-elected in 2013, he was appointed President of the Regional Council until March 2018. During his term of office, he was also a permanent member of the Committee of the Regions and a member of the EPP Group and, from 2017 to 2018, of the Bureau of the Committee of the Regions.

Since March 2018, he has been Councillor for the Environment and Climate for the Lombardy Region.
