Luca Castellin
Luca Gino Castellin (born in 1981) is an Italian scholar specialising in the history of political thought and international relations, and an associate professor of the History of Political Thought at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
Following his university studies and academic training in political science, he embarked on an academic career at the University of Milan, establishing himself as a specialist in the history of political ideas and theories of international relations. In addition to his teaching activities, he is involved in research centres and academic bodies at the Catholic University and is a member of the Italian Association for the History of Political Thought.
His main publications include Ascesa e declino delle civiltà. La teoria delle macro-trasformazioni politiche di Arnold J. Toynbee (2010), Il realista delle distanze. Reinhold Niebuhr e la politica internazionale (2014), Società e anarchia. La “English School” e il pensiero politico internazionale (2018), Sotto un cielo vuoto. Il realismo politico nella storia del pensiero internazionale (2022), Pensare lo Stato mondiale. Un’idea politica tra Otto e Novecento (2025) como coeditor.
