Carobene Simona

Director of the FDP Association – Protagonists in Education, Romania.
She holds a degree in Pedagogy from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan.
From 1991 to 1998, she worked at the Solidarietà e Servizi Social Cooperative in Busto Arsizio (VA), first as an educator, then as coordinator of a CSE and as an educational specialist across various educational services.

In 1998, she began working with the AVSI Foundation, spending the first two years in Romania, then at the Milan office as project manager for Eastern European countries.
In 2007, she returned to Romania to coordinate a cooperation project managed by AVSI in collaboration with FDP – Protagonists in Education, a Romanian legal entity established in 1996 thanks to its partnership with AVSI.
In 2009, once all international cooperation projects in the country had been completed, he began working directly with FDP as director of socio-educational projects.
In February 2013, he founded the social enterprise ‘Project Mozaic SRL’, which, over the course of seven years, has provided employment for over 30 young people in difficult circumstances.

From June 2014 to the present day, she has been executive director of the association FDP Protagonists in Education. FDP’s mission is to promote the human dignity of the most disadvantaged people within their communities.

Since June 2022, she has served as director of the Nuovo Cortile social cooperative. Nuovo Cortile is a mixed-type A/B cooperative specializing in three areas of activity: treatment and rehabilitation for addiction and mental health issues; youth and family services; and employment placement. Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy.
