Camozzi Pistoja Ambrogio

Ambrogio Camozzi Pistoja is Roy G. Clouse Associate Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard. He received a BA in Medieval and Humanistic Philology from the University of Milan and a PhD in Italian Studies from the University of Cambridge.

His doctoral research was funded by the Gates Foundation. His first monograph examined Dante’s concept of matter and its role in the composition of the Commedia. A second book, on medieval nonlinear exemplarities, is forthcoming this late spring with the University of Toronto Press, to be followed in early 2027 by another UTP monograph on Alexander the Great in medieval Italy.

He is currently completing a study of the criminal history of satire in medieval and early modern Italy
