Maurizio Bufalini

Maurizio Bufalini, a graduate in Engineering from La Sapienza University in Rome, has been a senior executive at the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group since 1994.

He worked on the development of Italy’s high-speed rail network, particularly on the Rome–Naples line; he subsequently coordinated working groups for international tenders in the rail infrastructure sector.

In 2008, he joined the project for the new Turin–Lyon line, serving as Director-General of LTF until 2015. He subsequently became Technical Director of TELT, the binational public project promoter, and was appointed its Director-General in 2023.
