Brusco Gianluca

Gianluca Brusco is an Italian diplomat with a strong background in political science and European studies. After earning a summa cum laude degree in Political Science from LUISS Guido Carli and a master’s degree from the College of Europe, he joined the diplomatic service of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He gained significant experience in various roles, including working with the Office of the Undersecretary for Multilateral and American Affairs, representing Italy at the United Nations, and leading the economic and commercial section at the embassy in India. He also held key positions coordinating the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in foreign and security policy, and in relations with countries neighboring the EU.
Later, he served as Political Counselor at the Italian Embassy in the United Kingdom, handling foreign policy and defense issues, while completing an Executive Master in Strategy and International Diplomacy at the London School of Economics.
More recently, he took responsibility for managing migration and social issues at Italy’s Permanent Representation to the European Union, before returning to Rome as head of the unit for emergency humanitarian operations at the Directorate General for Development Cooperation.
Throughout his career, he has been awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, an honor bestowed by the President of the Republic for his contributions to diplomatic service.
