She entered politics as soon as she was of age: in 2006 she was a candidate for the municipal council of Città di Castello and in 2008 she was in the regional secretariat of the Umbrian PD. In December 2012 he took part in the parliamentary elections, obtaining third place in the province of Perugia. Thanks to this result, she was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for the XVII legislature. She was the promoter of the first European Forum of Young Deputies, held in Brussels in December 2013. 

From 2014 to 2018 he was part of the Italian delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In July 2017, she was appointed to the National Executive of the Democratic Party as Head of the Culture Department.  

Deputy since 2013, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies. She was undersecretary at the Ministry of Economic Development in the Draghi government and Deputy Minister of Education in Conte II. he is Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies.
