Aresu Alessandro

Alessandro Aresu (Cagliari, 1983) is a geopolitical and strategic analyst of international renown. Having graduated in the philosophy of law from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, he has built a career that combines research, institutional consultancy and high-profile academic and popular writing.

He is a scientific adviser to the journal Limes – the Italian journal of geopolitics, for which he has been writing since 2005, and contributes to prestigious Italian and European publications, including Le Grand Continent, Aspenia, Il Foglio and Il Fatto Quotidiano.

Throughout his career, he has held advisory and leadership roles in various public and private institutions, including the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Assolombarda and the Italian Space Agency.

He lectures on university master’s programmes and at training institutes, and has been involved in the activities of the Scuola di Politiche since its foundation, having previously served as its scientific director.

The author of numerous publications, he is recognised for his contributions to our understanding of major global transformations. His most recent books include Le potenze del capitalismo politico.
