Who we are
Strolling on a Moonbeam: The Myth of Progress and the Expectation of the Other in Michail Bulgakov
Curated by Adriano Dell’Asta.
Produced by the Russia Cristiana Foundation.
The exhibition, through rich textual quotations, commentary, and photographic illustrations, will present this author—one of the greatest Russian writers of the twentieth century—who is often considered distant from religious tradition. In reality, this tradition is not only clearly present in his writings, but even in his biography.
The theme of the illusion of progress is central to his two so-called satirical works (Heart of a Dog and The Fatal Eggs), while the theme of striving toward a goal can be found in his two major works (The White Guard and The Master and Margarita).
