Whether in the everyday streets and alleyways, or on the battlefield, singing echoes, reaffirming the identity and unity of purpose of a people; singing accompanies the actions of a people, it comforts them, with equal force, in the Celtic tradition, bards compose ballads that describe and fix in the hearts the valiant deeds of two peoples in search of freedom. The exhibition takes a look at the song tradition: Celtic; Irish and Scottish folk music tells the story of the people and does so through love songs, laments for freedom, ballads nursery rhymes pub songs and work songs.
