A statement given in the immediate aftermath by the president of the Rimini Meeting, Bernhard Scholz, following the visit of Pope Leo XIV to the Rimini Meeting.

"We are more than grateful for the visit of the Holy Father, which was a great celebration full of enthusiasm, experienced and shared by everyone, from children to the elderly, with great joy. We will all remember the warmth with which the Holy Father met with us. The message that the Holy Father delivered us will mark our path. But the encounter itself has already opened up an immediate, broad and fascinating horizon for our commitment."

"With great anticipation" Scholz adds, "we listened to his words on the 'great historical responsibility in service of a humanity that hungers and thirsts for justice.' We will strive to communicate and bear witness, with even greater commitment, especially to the younger generations, to his statement that 'the future is a promise and not a threat.' We will immediately put ourselves on the line as the Pope has shown us, becoming ever more 'courageous pioneers.'"
