Domenico Airoma

Domenico Airoma, born in Portici (Naples) in 1963, he is a Chief Public Prosecutor and has served as a magistrate since 1989. Married to Paola and father of three daughters, he has developed extensive experience in both judicial and international fields.
He served as Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Naples, assigned to the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, and as Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Public Prosecutor’s Offices of Cosenza and Naples North. In February 2021, he was appointed Chief Public Prosecutor of Avellino, a position he held until January 2026, when he took office as Chief Public Prosecutor at the Court of Naples North (Aversa), returning to lead a prosecutor’s office in a complex area already familiar to him from his previous experience. His transfer was unanimously approved by the Fifth Commission of the Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura, pending ratification by the Plenum of the CSM.
On mandate from the Consiglio d’Europa and the Commissione Europea, Airoma has carried out numerous missions in the Western Balkans, Central Asia, and Russia. He lectures at the Scuola Superiore della Magistratura and serves as Vice President of the “Rosario Livatino” Study Center.
He contributes to the journal Cristianità, the official publication of Alleanza Cattolica, a private association of the faithful recognized under canon law and dedicated to the study and dissemination of the Church’s social doctrine. In March 2024, he withdrew his candidacy for Secretary General of the Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura in order to remain at the head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Avellino, reaffirming his commitment to his local jurisdiction and to the judiciary. In January 2026, he left Avellino and went on to head the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Naples North.
