Adriano Dell'Asta

Adriano Dell’Asta (1952), who holds a degree in philosophy from the Catholic University of Milan, is a Slavicist and former associate professor of Russian Language and Literature at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Brescia and Milan. From 2010 to 2014, he was director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow. He is a member of the Slavic Studies Class of the Ambrosiana Library and President of the Christian Russia Association.

In his research, he has focused in particular on certain central aspects of 19th- and 20th-century Russian culture, concentrating above all on the strands of religious philosophy and art and literature in their relationship with power. He has published numerous essays and academic papers and has participated in national and international conferences. Among his most recent publications are *Russia and Christianity: Essays 1997–2022* (Scholé, 2025) and *‘Russian Peace’: Putin’s Political Theology* (Scholé, 2023).
