Mr Saifallah Lasram is mayor of Tunis since April 2011. He was appointed right after January 14, 2011.
He is also president of the National Federation of Tunisian Cities (NFTC). Mayor Lasram played an important role in the process regarding the establishment of local democracy, participatory administration and effective decentralization. He collaborated with the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) to ensure the transmission of the local authorities’ point of view.
The mayor Lasram is specialized in history and sociology. He is a former Director General of the Ministry of Tourism. He worked more than 10 years in Germany and Switzerland to promote Tunisian tourism.
The mayor is married and is the father of three children.
