Lanza Antonino

Antonino Francesco Lanza is an astronomer and senior research fellow at the National Institute of Astrophysics at the Catania Observatory.

Since the start of his career, he has been interested in Sun-like stars and is currently studying stars that host planets. His main areas of interest concern methods for detecting new planets and the interactions between stars and planets. He has participated in the CoRoT and Gaia space missions and is a founding member of the GAPS collaboration, which discovers and studies exoplanets using the Galileo National Telescope.

He is currently involved in the development of the European Space Agency’s PLATO space mission, which will search for new Earth-like planets from 2027 onwards.
