Boschi Maria Elena

Leader of the group of Italia Viva in the Chamber of Deputies since September 2019.
She began her political career in the city of Florence, where she also became a member of the executive of the local Democratic Party (PD). In the 2012 centre-left primary elections, she was one of the coordinators of Matteo Renzi’s campaign.  Elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2013, she sat in the Commission for Constitutional Affairs. She was Minister for Constitutional Reforms and Relations with Parliament in the Renzi government and member of the Secretariat from December 2013 to September 2014.  During the Gentiloni government, however, she was Undersecretary of State to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers until June 2018, taking part in the Fifth Committee on Budget, Treasury and Planning.
