Asolan Paolo

Paolo Asolan (born 1967 in Cittadella, province of Padua) is an Italian priest and theologian, known for his academic and pastoral work. Ordained a priest in 1993 for the diocese of Treviso, he perfected his studies in pastoral theology at the Pontifical Pastoral Institute Redemptor Hominis of the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, where he currently teaches Fundamental Pastoral Theology. Since November 2018, Asolan has held the position of dean of the Pontifical Pastoral Institute Redemptor Hominis, an institution linked to the Pontifical Lateran University. In addition, he was in charge of the diocesan service for the ongoing formation of the clergy of the diocese of Rome, with the aim of accompanying priests on their formative and pastoral journey. Asolan has devoted particular attention to the Way of St James and pastoral work in the contemporary Church. He has published several works on these topics, contributing to the current theological and pastoral debate. In addition to his academic activity, Asolan has been engaged in various pastoral ministries. Since 2018, he has been in charge of the permanent formation of the clergy of the diocese of Rome, with the aim of accompanying priests on their formative and pastoral journey. He also served as parish vicar in the community of Santa Francesca Romana in Rome.
