Pappalardo Sandro

He holds degrees in Public Administration, Law, and Management, and has completed numerous specialization programs and master’s degrees in the fields of law, administration, and public administration.
He has extensive experience in the Armed Forces, where he served as a pilot officer in the Army Aviation Corps, rising to the rank of General, and held prestigious positions in both national and international contexts, including missions in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and Afghanistan (ISAF).
He served as a flight instructor and obtained various certifications and qualifications, including that of Night Vision Goggles Pilot with the United States Air Force.
He was elected Vice President of the Intermediate Council for Military Representation and, for six years, served as National Vice President of the Central Council for Representation (Cocer EI).

He has been awarded several decorations, including: the Air Force Long-Distance Flight Medal – GOLD, the Mauritian Medal for Military Merit, the Commemorative Cross for the UNIFIL military peacekeeping mission, the United Nations Medal for service with UNIFIL, and the Commemorative Cross for the Protection of Free Institutions and the Maintenance of Public Order. NATO Medal for Operation ISAF; the Spanish State Medal “De Operaciones de Mantenimiento de Paz”; and the Commemorative Cross for participation in operations supporting international security within the framework of military operations carried out by international armed forces to promote peace in Afghanistan.

Throughout his career, he has held institutional and senior leadership positions, including Regional Councilor of the Sicilian Regional Government with responsibility for Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment; representative for the Sicilian Region at Expo Dubai 2020; Advisor to the Minister of Defense for Relations with Parliament; and member of the Board of Directors of ENIT and ENIT S.p.A. with responsibility for the Regions.
Since January 2025, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of ITA Airways. Since May 14, 2026, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of ENAV.

He is the author of the book “Obiettivi dell’amministrazione finanziaria e risoluzione del contenzioso tributario con strumenti deflattivi: un modello matematico per l’analisi del problema” published by Aracne.
