Marina Terragni

Marina Terragni, a journalist and essayist, has been the Ombudsman for Children and Young People since 14 January 2025. A graduate in political philosophy, she has always been committed to the protection of human rights, women’s rights, and the rights of girls and boys.

Since 2023, she has been a member of the Gender Equality Advisory Council (GEAC) representing Italy, becoming its chair in 2024. She founded the magazine *Feminist Post* and the association *Radfem Italia APS*. With links to the Libreria delle Donne in Milan, Luisa Muraro and the philosophy of sexual difference, she has been a columnist for *Corriere della Sera*, *Io Donna*, *Il Foglio*, *Via Dogana*, *Linus* and numerous other publications.

Her essays include *La Scomparsa delle Donne* and *Temporary Mother*, as well as *Surrogacy and the Market for Children*.
Among the issues addressed during her term as Commissioner were: the impact of digital technology on children and adolescents; the mental health and vulnerability of young people; the ‘epidemic of gender dysphoria’; the crisis in the family and education; the need to genuinely listen to minors; protection from violence and abuse; and juvenile delinquency.
