Girardo Marco

Marco Girardo, born in 1972, is a journalist, essayist, radio presenter and expert on the transition of information in the digital age. He has been involved with Azione Cattolica since 1991; he graduated in Philosophy from the University of Trieste and obtained a Master’s degree in Communication from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. He began his career writing for the diocesan weekly Voce Isontina in Gorizia and for the daily newspaper Il Piccolo in Trieste; since 2000, he has worked for Avvenire, where he headed the Economics and Economic Policy editorial team.

Since 5 May 2023, he has been Editor-in-Chief of Avvenire where he has revitalised and expanded its digital offering in particular, integrating social media, podcasts and newsletters with a view to diversifying and enriching the publication’s content, whilst maintaining and strengthening trust with long-standing readers and reaching new ones.
