Gargiulo Teresa

Professor Teresa Gargiulo, who holds a degree in Mathematics from the Aldo Moro University of Bari, is currently the principal of the “Alessandro Volta” Comprehensive Public School in Taranto.

A teacher of mathematics and science in middle school since 2006, after a professional career at a company within the Ansaldo Group as a project manager, she immediately took on roles in school middle management, overseeing the evaluation of learning processes and system self-assessment, educational guidance, and the development of partnerships with organizations and stakeholders. Appointed as a Digital Facilitator during the National Digital School Plan, she led the technological transition at her school and served as a project designer for ESF and ERDF programs, as well as a trainer in STEM subjects.

An expert in managerial leadership, she has been at the forefront of transforming public schools into hubs of social, digital, and ecological innovation since her first appointment as a school principal. She has focused her tenure on breaking down the traditional boundaries of the classroom, promoting a vision of widespread, civic, and sustainable education in which authentic learning becomes an act of discovery and engagement with the world—a meaningful, personal, and shared experience.
