Pavlo Makov

Pavlo Makov (St Petersburg, 1958) is a Ukrainian artist. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painters and Graphic Artists of Great Britain, a Member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, and a recipient of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize for the Arts.
He is regarded as one of his country’s leading artists. His work has been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the National Art Gallery in Kyiv, the Centre for Contemporary Art in Osaka, the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Ibiza and many other institutions. In 2022, he was commissioned to curate the Ukrainian Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale. He lives and works in Kharkiv. Photo by Roman Pashvkosky
