Who we are
Romanelli Gabriel

Father Gabriel Romanelli is an Argentine priest of the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE) and parish priest of the Holy Family Parish in Zama.
Born in Argentina, he completed his studies in philosophy and theology within the IVE, a missionary congregation founded in 1984, and was ordained a priest, devoting himself from the outset to evangelisation and the care of Christian communities in the Middle East.
Since 2019, he has been parish priest of the Parish of the Holy Family in Gaza, the only Latin Catholic parish in the Strip. In a context marked by conflict, poverty and political instability, he has carried out intensive pastoral and humanitarian work on behalf of the small local Christian community and numerous Muslim families in need. During the war that broke out in October 2023, he became one of the most authoritative voices of Gaza’s civilian population, maintaining constant contact with the Holy See and calling for peace, humanitarian corridors and assistance for refugees.
