Born in Winnipeg, Canada, in 1956, Father Brian met Mother Teresa in 1977, and close with her until her death.
He joined the Missionaries of Charity from the moment of their foundation in 1984.
He was ordained a priest in June of 1985.
He possesses academic titles in philosophy and theology, and has a PhD in psychology.
He has held posts as Trainer of the Novices, Superior of the Community, General Counsel since 2001, and Superior General of the Congregation since 2008.
He is the Postulator for the Cause of Canonization for Mother Teresa, as well as the Director of the Mother Teresa Center.
