Fontana Luciano

Luciano Fontana was born in Frosinone on Jan. 11, 1959, lives in Milan, is married and has two children.
He graduated in philosophy from La Sapienza University in Rome.
After his first experiences as a correspondent from Frosinone for the Ansa news agency, he joined L’Unità with an internship contract in 1986 and remained there until 1997, covering news and foreign affairs, then as head of the political service, until he became central editor-in-chief.
On February 1, 1997, he was hired at Corriere della Sera as deputy central editor. In 2000 he became central editor-in-chief, deputy editor since 2003 and co-director in 2009. An expert on Italian and international politics, he oversaw the launch of the Corriere’s web edition as deputy editor.
