He is Full Professor of Neuropsychopharmacology at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. Specialist in psychiatry, he worked for three years at the National Institute of Mental Health. He is the Scientific Director of the Geriatric Research Group (GRG) in Brescia, responsible for the Social and Health Policy Section of Smith Kline Foundation. He founded the IRCCS St. John of God in Brescia for the care and research on dementias. He is President of the Italian Association of Psychogeriatry and is Former President of the Italian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics. He has been a member of the Higher Health Council and the Ministry of Health Scientific Research Committee.
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of Arco di Giano for Neuroscience.
