Salvatore Pirrone is the Director General for active policies, employment services and training by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
Among other things, he is responsible for coordinating of active labor market policies, and the promotion and coordination of training policies, as well as the coordination of programs co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF). The Directorate is also managing authority for the two operational programs in the programming cycle 2014-2020, including the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI), in order to the implementation of the Youth Guarantee.
From 2008 to 2012, he worked for the INPS dealing with mobility and “Cassa integrazione”, the income from contributions of self-employed workers and employees; He also worked in the technical secretariat of the Secretary of State to the Prime Minister; from 2000 to 2006, he has been head of studies and statistics at the Ministry of Labour.
He is the author of numerous publications on labor policies.
He was appointed Director General of the Agency for Active Labour Market Policies (ANPAL).
