Olivero Andrea

He was born in Cuneo in 1970, Andrea Olivero studied Classics at the University of Turin, where he graduated cum laude in 1994. Winner of the contest, became a career teacher.
Always active in the associations and voluntarism, he was co-founder in 1995 of community Emmaus of Boves, and then devoted himself to the ACLI (Christian Associations of Italian Workers), of which he became national president in 2006.
From 2008 to 2012 he was the spokesmen of the Third Sector Forum, the major governing body of uniform representation of association, volunteering, and social cooperation.
He was President of the FAI (International Federation of ACLI), a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation with the South, the National Observatory on Associationism promoted by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and a member of the Cultural Project Forum of the CEI.
Alongside the commitment to solidarity and cooperation, Olivero is moved by a passion for politics, to which he has dedicated himself completely since December 2012, resigning all other positions.
A founding member of the political movement “Scelta Civica” (Civic Choice), in February 2013 he was elected senator following the nomination of the Senate leaders in the college of Piemonte. Olivero is currently a member of the Group for Autonomy (SVP- UV PATT- UPT) – PSI MAIE in the Senate and of the political movement “Democrazia Solidale” (Solidarity Democracy).
On February 28, 2014, Olivero was appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
