She is Honorary Professor of General and Social Pedagogy at the University of Milano Bicocca where she teaches Pedagogy and Education Cultures in the Master’s Degree in Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences.
She is the coordinator and responsible for the Scientific Directorate of Progetto Infanzia Insieme – training activities for educators and child care coordinators under the agreement signed between the University of Milano-Bicocca, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan (Scientific Director Prof. Piercesare Rivoltella) and the City of Milan / Central Direction Family, School and Social Policies/ Childcare Services Sector (for school years 2009/2010, 2010/2011, 2011/2012).
She is a scientific director of the framework convention for Scientific Collaboration and Teaching Support between the University of Milano-Bicocca and Reggio Children / NidoScuola Eni.
She is the scientific director of the convention between the University of Milano-Bicocca and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Rebecca New University), which was signed in July 2010, with the aim of encouraging cooperation in the field of research, training and exchanges between the two institutions through participation in research and training activities.
Since 2009 she has been a member of the Regional Observatory on integration and multi-ethnicity and of the Observatory on Foreign Schools (USR Lombardia). She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Unicef Italy (2009-2011).
She has been a rapporteur (“Services for the Childhood”) at the National Family Conference (2010).
She is a member of the Scientific Committee of Parma Infanzia.
She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Gemelli-Musatti Institute for communication studies.
She is the Scientific Manager of the Asilo Nido Interaziendale Bambini Bicocca (University of Milano-Bicocca / Municipality of Milan / Pirelli / Pirelli Real Estate / Deutsche Bank) and promoter of the Campus Nursery Network.
To date, she is member of the editorial committee of magazines such as Studium Educationis, Bambini, Maltrattamento e Abuso nell’infanzia Rivista Italiana di Educazione Familiare, Early Child Development and Care, Patio, Educaçao Infantil, Proposiçioes.
With Duccio Demetrio and Silvia Kanizsa she supervises the books series Pedagogie dello Sviluppo (Raffaello Cortina, Milano) and the book series Edizioni Junior (Spaggiari …).
She was International Coordinator for Italy of the International Encyclopedia, curated by New, R.S., & Cochran, M., (2007), Early Childhood Education. An International Encyclopedia, Vol. 4, The Countries. Italy – Westport, Connecticut, London, Praeger.
She is coordinator of the Italian Unity of the SIRIUS Project, funded by the European Commission, European Policy Network Education For Children with Immigrant Background.
