Mancini Daniele

Entering his diplomatic career in 1978, Daniele Mancini has served as the Ambassador of Italy to the Holy See since March 4th, 2015. He was previously the Ambassador of Italy to India, with accreditation in Nepal (2013-2015) and in Romania with accreditation in Moldova (2005-2008). In previous roles in foreign service, Mancini has served in bilateral seats (Washington, Islamabad, Paris, Baghdad), handling political dossiers, of commercial and consular issues, and multilateral (representing Italy at the Atlantic Council in Brussels). In the course of his stay in Rome, he has also served as Diplomatic Councillor to the Ministry of Economic Development, International Commerce, Energy and Communication, and help important positions for the Cabinet of the Minister of the Exterior, to the President of the Republic, and to the Secretary General of the Ministry of the Exterior.
Mancini graduated summa cum laude in Political Science at the Sapienza University in Rome in 1975. He attended a course at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace- Smithsonian Programme on the changing order of the world. He studied Moral and Theoretical Philosophy and Technique of Communication at Georgetown University in Washington.
His numerous publications analyzing political science and international relations, thanks to his profound understanding of foreign and domestic political dynamics gained through his services to the Ministry of the Exterior in several accreditation locations. Among his publications are: “Peregrinazioni di una Coscienza Inquieta per il ritorno della Guerra in Europa”; “Le prospettive del Sistema dei Partiti Politici negli Stati Uniti”; “L’Occidente ed il Processo di Riforma nell’Europa Orientale” ; “Le relazioni Italo-Francesi tra ristrutturazioni industriali e Mercato Unico Europeo”; “Lo sviluppo Economico dell’Iraq nella dimensione del Golfo” ; “Lo sviluppo delle Relazioni economiche tra Italia e Iraq alla luce del conflitto del Golfo”.
In the course of his career, Mancini has recieved many awards, including “Cavaliere di Gran Croce dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica”in 2016, “Cavalierato di Gran Croce Ordine Equestre Santo Sepolcro” and “Ordine Piano vaticano”.
Since 2000 he has been an Ordinary Academic at the Academy “Angelica Costantiniana” of Letters, Arts and Sciences.
