Curated by Franco Nembrini, Gabriele Dell’Otto and Adelfo Galli

In the divine Comedy the eyes, the look, the word see, to aim, recur hundreds of times, especially in Purgatory. The proposed route traces the Dantean knowledge method, all aimed at observing and questioning reality through the eyes. In particular the events of the last songs of Purgatory, when Dante’s first guide, Virgil, gives his place to the second guide, Beatrice.

Through the exhibition of 6/10 canvases by Gabriele Dell’Otto, in absolute preview and in continuity with last year’s exhibition, the songs XXIX-XXX in particular from Purgatory will be recited. The same episode is recounted by the sculpture “El Dante” by Adelfo Galli: a life-size sculpture by Dante and a 300 × 340 high-relief depicting Beatrice who, detached from the heavenly procession, meets Dante and offers herself as a guide.
