In June of 1987, Father Luigi Giussani accepted the invitation of Wakako Saito to participate in the “Italian week” organized by the International Cultural Center of Nagoya-Japan. In that occasion at the sacred place, Mount. Koya, the encounter between Luigi Giussani and Shodo Habukawa took place.

“When the flower opens up the butterfly arrives, but, at the same time, when the butterfly arrives the flower opens”. This is the Japanese proverb that for 30 years concisely describes the exceptional encounter which took place between these two men and cultures.
