Walking from glory to glory

‘This exhibition is made up of over 200 photos of a hundred buildings in about 40 Italian towns; these specimens of 10-14th century religious architecture are still extant along Italian pilgrimage routes. This year’s exhibition follows up last year’s edition by showing the pilgrimage routes from Ventimiglia to Rome. It also includes three panels by the painter Franco Vignazia, with scenes from the Bible, set up in a portal structure and showing Man walking towards a goal. All this contributes to clarify the ideal meaning of pilgrimage. The aim and contents of this exhibition is therefore an ever deeper understanding of the meaning of pilgrimage to Rome, reached by highlighting the close link between man’s action and walking and life regarded as a tension to a goa.’
