Among some friends in Rimini who share the Christian experience, a desire is born to meet, get to know, and bring to Rimini everything that is beautiful and good in the culture of the time. Thus, the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples originated in 1980. It is a gathering of people from different faiths and cultures. <strong>A place of friendship<\/strong> where peace, coexistence, and friendship among peoples can be built. A network of encounters arises from people sharing a quest for truth, goodness, and beauty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Since then, every year, prominent figures<\/strong> from politics, managers from the economy, representatives of religions and cultures, intellectuals, artists, athletes, and key players on the global stage have attended. Stories of people are at the center of meetings, exhibitions, shows, and sports events. <strong>Culture at the Meeting is expressed as an experience<\/strong> driven by the desire to discover the beauty of reality. This all takes place during the days of the event, which has become the most attended cultural festival in the world over the years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the last week of August<\/strong>, Rimini becomes the capital of international culture and is invaded by the \u201c<strong>people of the Meeting<\/strong>,\u201d as defined by the media: curious, open-minded people capable of judgment from all over the world for this event that has been <strong>repeated since the early 1980s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Since its inception, the Meeting has bet on the <strong>desire<\/strong> and passion in every man\u2019s heart, that desire for beauty, truth, and justice that Don Luigi Giussani, founder of the Communion and Liberation movement, called elementary experience, a common ground for encounter and dialogue.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x-section e126903-e11 m2px3-0 m2px3-3 m2px3-4\"><div class=\"x-div x-container max width e126903-e12 m2px3-r\"><div class=\"x-text x-content e126903-e13 m2px3-p m2px3-q\">DISTINCTIVE FEATURES<\/div><div class=\"x-row e126903-e14 m2px3-h m2px3-j m2px3-l\"><div class=\"x-row-inner\"><div class=\"x-col e126903-e15 m2px3-m m2px3-n\"><div class=\"x-text x-text-headline has-graphic e126903-e16 m2px3-9 m2px3-a\"><div class=\"x-text-content\"><span class=\"x-graphic\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"x-icon x-graphic-child x-graphic-icon x-graphic-primary\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-x-icon-l=\"&#xf4be;\"><\/i><\/span><div class=\"x-text-content-text\"><h3 class=\"x-text-content-text-primary\"><p><strong>Volunteers, <br \/>\nthe heart of the Meeting<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p><\/h3>\n<p class=\"x-text-content-text-subheadline\"><span>For each edition, <strong>thousands of volunteers<\/strong> from Italy and around the world come to Rimini, paying for their travel and accommodation, to organize, set up, manage, and then dismantle the Meeting.
