Paolo Tosoni was born in Montichiari (BS) in 1962, and graduated from the University of Milan. For more than 10 years, he practiced at the law firm Nerio Diodà of Milan until 2001, when he founded “Law Firm Brusa Spagnolo Tosoni & Partners.”
He specialized in criminal law in the field of economic and corporate offenses, offenses against the Public Administration, medical liability, and for violations of the rules for the prevention of accidents, workplace hygiene and environmental protection.
In particular, he was a defense lawyer for recent, major criminal cases such as the case for the bankruptcy and stock manipulation at Parmalat, the case for the banking crimes for the Popular Bank of Lodi, and the “caso Telecom”, the case for the so-called derivatives and false accounting of the Bank Italease, the survey for obstacle to activity of the supervision of the vertices of Ubi Banca, and the civil case for the alleged acid-throwing charges of Levato, Magnani, and Boettcher.
Since its establishment, Tosoni has been the President of the “Free Bar Association” (LAF), which brings together professionals in the field of Law in all of Italy: the associated formed in 1997 for the development and dissemination of opinions of issues of justice and which organizes debates and public meetings for these issues. He has also been a member of the Board of the “Study and Research Center in Economic Criminal Law” in Milan since 2002 and is a professor-teaching assistant at the School of Legal Specialization at the University of Milan in the area of criminal law.
Tosoni has participated as a speaker at numerous congresses on the subject of criminal law: in particular, on the legal responsibility of authorities from legislative decree 231/01, on crimes against the public administration, companies and bankruptcy.
