Andrea Simoncini, is currently a professor of Constitutional Law at the Department of Law at the University of Florence where he teaches in the School of Law and Economics.
He taught at several Italian and foreign universities.
He is a member of the Steering Committee of the “Ente Cassa di Risparmio” of Florence and coordinator of the scientific committee of the Metropolitan Strategic Plan of Florence.
He is the author of important publications in the field of constitutional freedoms, the sources of law and the territorial autonomies expressing a keen sensitivity to the institutional implications, historical and cultural of constitutional law.
Recently (2016) Simoncini has published along with other authors for Oxford University Press the “Italian Constitutional Justice volume in Global Context”.
In 2015 he edited along with Marta Cartabia for Cambridge University Press the volume: “Pope Benedict XVI’s Legal Thought.”
He is the author of numerous publications in Italian and English.
