Franco Nembrini was born in Trescore Balneario, in the province of Bergamo, on August 15, 1955. Fourth of ten brothers, having understood at the age of 12 that literature could have accompanied him for life, he swore in the hands of his professor of Letters that he will become an Italian teacher.

He attended High School but at the age of sixteen, for family reasons he is forced to leave the school and go to work in a factory. At eighteen, he decided to take his High School diploma, and in three months of “crazy and desperate study” (Leopardi is, with Dante, his other great passion) prepares private examinations.

He frequented the degree program in Pedagogy at the Cattolica University of Milan. Meanwhile, he began teaching religion (he is the first laical teacher in the Diocese of Bergamo), becoming one of the leaders of Communion and Liberation of Bergamo, he married and had four male sons.

He graduated in 1982 and, later a group of desperate parents knocks on his door: it is the beginning of the free junior high school “The Trace” in Calcinate (BG), which now counts about a thousand students.

In the meantime, he started teaching Italian in technical colleges, keeping faith in the ancient promise.

From 1999 to 2006 he was Chairman of the Educational Works Federation (FOE), the association of parity schools tied to the Company of Works. At the same time, he was part of the National Council of the Catholic School and the National School of Pastoral Care of the CEI, as well as the School of Education’s Equality for the Ministry of Education.

He teaches in the state school until summer 2009 when he needed to leave for health reasons, but retained the role of Rector of the “The Trace” school until the summer of 2015.

In recent years, as a result of the unexpected success of his books, “Dante’s poet of desire” and “From Father to Son” has been called to talk about education and Dante throughout Italy and abroad, especially in Spain, Portugal , Latin America and Russian-speaking countries around the world (Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Siberia).

In 2012 he founded a small publishing house, Centocanti, with which he publishes a dvd “El Dante” box and his commentary on Milosz’s “Miguel Manara”.

The “El Dante” dvd box, made in 2012, attracted the attention of TV2000, CEI broadcasting TV channel, proposed to Mr. Nembrini to describe his passion for Dante and the literature on television. In this wat the cycle of 34 episodes “Midway upon the journey”, aired between 2015 and 2016, was born.

As a result of the successful achievement, in 2016, he also realized, for Tv2000, “The Adventure of Pinocchio”.
