Firas Lufti was born in Hama (a city in central Syria halfway between Aleppo and Damasco) in 1975. After finishing his high school studies, he entered the Custody of the Holy Land.
On September 17, 2001, Lufti took his solemn vows in Jerusalem, and on July 11, 2013, he was ordained a priest. From 2013 to 2014, Lufti served the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. In September 2014, Lufti was appointed to Aleppo as the vice pastor and vocational director for Syria. In 2011, Lufti finished his degree in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University.
In 2015, Lufti was appointed to Aleppo as the Superior of the College of the Holy Land and vice pastor of the parish of St Francis.
