Saglia Stefano

Stefano Saglia lives in Brescia. he has always had a special interest in economic subjects and the relationship between production activities, education and social issues.

From 1995 to 2000, he was an executive at the Bureau of the Lombardy Regional Council. In 1995, at only 24 years of age, he joined the Brescia Provincial Council, from 1999 to 2001 he was its Vice President and then held the position of Councillor for Employment and Productive Activities.

He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for the first time in May 2001. In the 15th Legislature, he was Vice President of the Chamber’s Commission for Productive Activities.

He was appointed Undersecretary of State for Economic Development on 30 April 2009. He receives delegated powers in matters falling within the competence of the Energy Department, as well as in matters concerning the market, competition, consumers, supervision and technical regulations. Saglia is also delegated to the Presidency of the CNCU, the National Council for Consumers and Users. In 2010, he received the ‘Man of the Year’ award for energy from the Italian Petroleum Magazine and Fondazione Energia.

Since August 2018 Member of the College of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment ARERA.
