Director of the Palliative Care Unit of Forlì and member of the Scientific Technical Committee of the IRCCS Istituto Tumori Romagna (IRST); he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Medicine and Person Association (Medicina e Persona). His main areas of interest and study are the continuity of care between oncology and palliative care, prognosis factors, symptoms’ treatment and ethical aspects in terminally ill patients care (palliative sedation). He has over 180 publications in national and international scientific journals, and is the author/editor of six volumes. He participated in more than 250 conferences in Italy and abroad. Winner of the Ministerial Finalized Research Project 2015-2017 on early palliative care.
