Fanizza Domenico

Domenico Fanizza has been Executive Director for Italy, Albania, Greece, Malta, Portugal and San Marino at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) since November 2018. Previously, he was Executive Director at the African Development Bank (AfDB) from July 2016 to October 2018 where he represented Italy, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands in the AfDB’s Board of Directors. Before he worked for the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC, where he was assistant director for the African Department and mission chief for Kenya and Zimbabwe. In the Middle Eastern Department, he led missions to Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Lebanon. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Economics at Northwestern University and a “Laurea” in Economics from “Universita’ di Modena”.
