D’Alatri Alessandro

Born in Rome in 1955, he acted in theatre, cinema and television with Visconti, Strehler, De Sica, Pietrangeli, Zurlini, Bolchi and other authors. He began directing for advertising in the late 1970s, becoming an assistant to national and international advertising directors. From 1984 to the present day, he shot hundreds of commercials that won him great recognition from national and international advertising. In 1991 he made Americano Rosso, his first feature film with which he won the David di Donatello and the Ciak d’oro for best debut film of the year. In 1993 he shot Senza Pelle, for which he also wrote the subject and screenplay, which was enthusiastically received at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival and won numerous awards.
In 2001, he wrote and directed Casomai, the film with which he won the International Film Festival in Lauderdale (Miami) and received five David di Donatello nominations. 2005 was the year of La febbre, which won numerous awards, and his debut as a theatre director with Vittorio Franceschi’s Il sorriso di Daphne produced by the Stabile di Bologna. In 2006, he wrote and directed the film Commediasexi while in 2007 he returned to theatre with Diatriba d’amore contro un uomo seduto by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. His latest film Sul Mare produced by Buddy Gang and Warner Italia was in 2010. He also has several video clips to his credit, made for Elisa, Negramaro, Renato Zero and Laura Pausini, among others.
