D’Aimmo Florindo

He graduated in economic and commercial sciences; by profession he was a Chartered Accountant and Official Auditor. He was the first President of the Molise Regional Council in 1970 and then President of the Molise Region from 1975 to 1982.
In 1975, he was appointed by the Chamber of Deputies as a member of the RAI Board of Directors (he then resigned due to incompatibility with the elected office). In 1981, he was elected Co-Chairman of the Advisory Committee of Regional and Local Institutions of the European Community member countries, together with the Mayor of London, an election that took place in the French Senate in Paris.
He was first elected as a Member of Parliament in 1983 with the Christian Democratic Party, of which he was National Head of the Department of the South in 1985. He was Undersecretary of State for Labour and Social Security in Giuliano Amato’s first government (from 30 June 1992 to 27 April 1993) and Undersecretary for Budget and Economic Planning with responsibility for the Mezzogiorno in Carlo Azeglio Ciampi’s government (from 7 May 1993 to 9 May 1994).
